The Feast was conceptualise and design for the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery (TMAG)’s Festival for Children and Young People: Lift Off 2023.
The Feast is a participatory ever growing mural all about FOOD! Responding to themes of the concurrent exhibition | Twist | curated by Dr Mary Knights ~”exhibition bringing together artwork by exceptional Australian and Irish artists to engage with Dickensian themes – with a contemporary and quirky twist.”. The Feast dress up an empty table for the young peoples and participants to fill during a series of “drop in format“ painting workshops. Each day the painted food is added to the table, creating an inviting, colourful and grotesque accumulation. Oscillating between notion of abundance, culture, waste and ritual of celebration, The feast invite the audience at the table.
